Do you have plans to spend your vacation in Italy soon? Italy is currently extending the travel rules until the end of May.
Italy is extending current rules for travel to and from foreign countries until May 31. Thus, travelers to Italy must continue to present a vaccination certificate or a negative rapid test. Abolished next Sunday (May 1) is the obligation to fill out the European Passenger Locator Form. This obligation entered into force on May 24, 2021.
Italy will extend the mask requirement on trains, subways, buses, and visitors to indoor events until June 15. Health Minister Roberto Speranza announced Thursday that masks will have to be worn until then on public transport and in cinemas, theaters, or sports halls. Elsewhere, however, such as in restaurants or at work, the mask requirement will be dropped on May 1.
After the state of emergency expires at the end of March, the green pass – proof of 2-G or 3-G – will also be eliminated at the end of April. Visitors to restaurants, bars, cinemas, concerts, discotheques, or stores will no longer have to show a certificate. Only the Green Pass, which was previously required for access to the workplace, will be required to enter hospitals or care facilities by the end of the year.
